What made you decide to work at DekBoard?

Interviewing for this role, the team was very upfront about the challenges. It was clear from the start that this would require hard work, dedication, and a lot of patience to help the team and the product grow in the direction they envisioned. I have always enjoyed a challenge, so I was and continue to be excited to jump in, roll up my sleeves, and contribute.

What do you enjoy about working at DekBoard?

I love the variety in this role. No two days are ever the same—I get to meet new people all the time, connect with different parks, and face fresh challenges every day. That constant change and variety keep things interesting and make the work dynamic. It’s always rewarding to look back at the end of the week and see how much we’ve achieved.

What does your role involve? What does a typical day at DekBoard look like for you?

My role is all about getting out on the road and engaging with holiday parks across the South Coast. A typical day often involves meeting with site managers, assessing their needs, and seeing how DekBoard can make a difference for them. It’s a hands-on role that allows me to connect with the industry directly, understand our clients’ goals, and find solutions that work.

How do you achieve success in your role at DekBoard?

DekBoard is highly adaptable, which is key to my success here. I’m lucky to work for a company that listens to its team and embraces change when needed. Even in my short time here, I’ve seen innovations, like new products that make installing decking or skirting easier for our Authorised Installers (AIs). This kind of forward-thinking approach from the company has helped me deliver better results and foster positive relationships across the parks.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

Outside of work, I love being outdoors. Kayaking, camping, and hitting the road on my motorbike are my go-to activities. There’s nothing like a day spent in nature to recharge and relax.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?

I’ve received two pieces of advice that guide me. For work, someone once told me to “keep to a schedule, turn up when you say you will, and stick to it every week.” It sounds simple, but being consistent makes all the difference in building trust. Personally, a piece of advice I live by is “Life can be short—enjoy it, don’t just work for it.” It’s a reminder to find joy in every day and not to get too caught up in the daily grind.
