At DekBoard we take pride in our talented team, and we’re excited to introduce Simon, our new Regional Sales Manager.

What made you decide to work for DekBoard?

I appreciate the working style and the strength behind the DekBoard brand. With over 20 years of experience in the Holiday and Park Homes industry across all sectors, I believe I can contribute significantly to the vast collective expertise that DekBoard already possesses. Additionally, I am drawn to the company’s ethos, which aligns closely with my own values.

What do you enjoy about working at DekBoard?

The team have been incredibly supportive, making my transition as a new starter much less daunting. I felt welcomed as part of the team from my very first week. I enjoy building relationships with the parks and supporting them in any way I can. I was truly impressed during the factory tour to see how everything is recycled to help protect our planet.

What does your role involve, or what does a typical day look like for you?

My role involves visiting parks and helping them optimise their outdoor spaces, ensuring they get the best decking solutions for their needs. A significant part of my day is dedicated to problem-solving, addressing customer challenges, and providing tailored recommendations. By offering expert guidance and support, I not only enhance customer satisfaction but also contribute to increased sales and business growth.

How do you achieve success in your role at DekBoard?

Success in my role is achieved by driving nationwide brand awareness, ensuring more customers recognise and trust the brand. Providing exceptional customer support to both end users and parks is essential, maintaining the highest standards of service to foster business growth. Strong communication and relationship-building at all levels are also key, helping to strengthen customer connections and drive long-term success.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

When I’m not assisting our customers, I enjoy cycling, running, hiking, and walking my dogs. I am also a proud grandfather to three wonderful, lively grandsons who mean the world to me, and I cherish spending as much time with them as possible.

What is the best advice you’ve ever received?

I feel fortunate to have worked alongside some of the brightest minds in our industry. One piece of advice that resonated with me was to work smart, not hard, don’t be a busy fool and most of all, if you enjoy what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life again!
